What is a Group Break?

What is a Fillmore Breaks group break?

The short version: you buy a spot, we open the product live, every card from your slot is yours.

01 / How it works

A group break, plain English.

You probably found this page from a short on YouTube or Instagram. Here's what you were actually watching.

A group break is a live event where one box, case, or set of Pokémon product gets opened — and a group of people split the cards.

Each spot in the break is connected to specific cards. When you buy a spot, you're buying everything that pulls into your slot when we open the product on stream. Every card from your spot ships to you, win or lose.

Three ways the spots get assigned, depending on the break:

  • Pick Your Energy You choose the energy type you want. Lowest spots start around $20.
  • Random Energy Flat price (usually $100–$125), energies are randomized before the break.
  • Multi-Hit Energy Flat price (around $50), built around bigger product.

We also run Mixer Breaks — multiple products combined into one break — and Personal Breaks for one buyer at a time. Both are listed openly when they're available.

That's the whole format. No mystery boxes, no repacks, no graded card breaks, no lottery-style products with the odds stacked against you.

02 / How Fillmore Breaks does it

15 years of breaking. Now in Pokémon, full-time.

I've been running breaks for 15 years. I spent most of that time in sports cards, and left when the industry got squeezed by the big players. I started Fillmore Breaks in February 2026 to do this the way I always wanted to do it — in Pokémon, full-time, just me.

A few things you should know up front:

  • This is the calm corner of breaking. No screaming, no hype, no fake urgency. If you've watched other breaking content and felt like you were being yelled at, this is the alternative.
  • Modern English Pokémon only. No Japanese product, no vintage, no other TCGs. One ecosystem, done well.
  • Streams are weeknights at 9 PM Eastern on YouTube. Two to three hours, usually 8–11 spots per break, three price tiers most nights.
  • Pre-sells go up about a week before each break. I don't hold customer money for months. If a break isn't ready to run, the spots aren't up yet.
  • Shipping goes out twice a week. Every card from your spot, win or lose.
  • Spots usually sell out before the stream goes live. This is a heads-up, not a sales tactic — that's just how it currently runs.

If the format works for you, you'll know pretty quickly. If it doesn't, no hard feelings.
