My rankings for energies in Ascended Heroes.
Dark is the top spot! The Mega Gengar ex SIR is the biggest card in the set with a current market value of $1,150!!! Dark has 6 of the top 20 cards! Dark has 15 total hits.
Second is Electric. Electric from Ascended Heroes could easily be the #1 spot in most modern releases. Two Pikachu SIR's an Iono's Bellibolt SIR! Electric has 13 total hits.
Third is Dragon. But only for the chase. 3 cards in the top 7. But only 7 total hits. The Dragonite SIR is the chase card with a market value of $700!
Psychic is fourth. Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex SIR $330 and Lillie’s Clefairy ex SIR $175 are both bangers plus they have 15 total hits.
Fifth and sixth are Fire and Water. Fire has 10 hits and the Gold Mega Charizard Y ex Mega Hyper Rare $450! Water has 3 hits in the top 20 and 8 total hits.
7th place is Trainer. 14 total hits
8th place is Fighting. 13 total hits and the Mega Hawlucha ex sir in the top 20
9th and 10th place are Normal and Grass. Both have 8 total hits. Grass has the Mega Meganium ex sir with a current market value of $100.
Last place is Steel. 4 total hits. A Mawile ir and Steven's Metagross ex sir.
How to Choose Your Energy
- Want the biggest possible hits → Dark/Electric/Dragon
- Want consistent pulls → Fire/Psychic/Water
- Want a balanced mix → Trainer/Fighting
- Want lower cost with upside → Grass/Normal
- Want the lowest cost spot → Steel
